Our terms, in plain English

Last updated 2 November 2026. These are the terms for everything you buy from Secure Web Studio, a trading name of Scott Charnley Consultancy Ltd (company number 14926863). We work with business customers only. If anything here is unclear, call us on 01752 741969.

Monthly plans

What you get. Each plan includes what is listed for it on our plans page on the day you join.

How you pay. When you start, you pay your first month and your last month. After that we take your monthly payment on the same date each month. Your last month is held and used for your final month when you leave, so you never pay extra to cancel.

No contract. You can cancel any time by email to contact@securewebstudio.co.uk, by text, or with a Get help message in your app. Your final month is the one you already paid for at the start, and we take no more payments after you tell us.

New pages. Your plan’s targeted pages are written each month. Pages you don’t use in a month don’t build up for later.

Changes. Everyday updates like new photos, prices, opening hours and wording are included and usually done the same working day, within fair use. Bigger jobs, like a new feature or a redesign, we price first and only do with your yes.

Shops and bookings. Growth sites with an online shop or bookings have a one-off £250 setup fee, paid at the start.

Paying yearly

A yearly plan is 12 months paid up front for the price of 10. There is no last-month payment with a yearly plan. It renews each year unless you tell us before the renewal date. A yearly payment covers the full 12 months and is not refunded if you leave part way through.

Your domain and your content

Your domain is always yours. We register it in your name. If you leave, we help you move it wherever you like, free.

Your words and photos are yours. When you send us text, photos or logos, you confirm you have the right to use them, and you let us put them on your website, Google profile and posts for as long as you are with us.

If you leave

The design and code of a monthly plan website stay ours until you buy them. When you leave, you choose:

  • Buy the website outright: £500 for Essentials, £1,000 for Pro or £1,500 for Growth in your first year, and half that after 12 months. It is then yours to keep and host anywhere.
  • Or take your content: we take the website down and send you all your words and photos within 14 days.

Buying a website outright

The price is fixed and agreed in writing before we start. You pay half to start and half when it’s live, and you own it from then on. The optional security bolt-on is £50 a month, with no contract and a month’s notice to cancel.

Website rescue

A rescue is £250, paid up front. If you then have a rebuild with us, the £250 comes off its price.

Hosting

On a monthly plan, hosting is included and we look after it for as long as you’re with us. A website you buy outright is hosted free on Cloudflare’s free plan, which has fair-use limits; most small business websites never come near them. If yours ever needs more, we tell you the cost before anything changes. The security bolt-on is optional and not needed for hosting.

Your customers’ information

When your enquiries and photos come through our app, we hold them for you, only to run your website and inbox. We keep them private, secure and in the UK or EU, never sell or share them, and only let our own team see them. When you leave, we send you a copy if you want one and delete them within 30 days.

If a payment fails

We let you know and try again. If a payment is still unpaid after 14 days, we pause changes and new pages. After 30 days, a simple holding page goes up in its place, showing your logo, your email address and “back soon”, until it’s paid. Your domain stays yours either way.

Our promise and its limits

We do our work with care and skill, keep daily backups, and fix anything we got wrong at no cost. We don’t promise a particular Google ranking, number of calls or amount of sales, because nobody honestly can. We are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen, or for indirect losses such as lost profit. Our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem. Nothing here limits anything the law says can’t be limited.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we email you at least 30 days before. If you don’t like the change, you can leave on the old terms.

The law

These terms are under the law of England and Wales. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.
